SHARRATT: It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Kim Brent Sharratt, age 62 years. On March 14, 2017 he lost his battle to cancer at St. John Hospice, Vancouver, BC. Born April 17, 1954 at Virden Hospital to Lynn and Marion Sharratt, Kim's early years were spent on the family farm at Ebor, Manitoba. In 1963, the family moved to Brandon. It was here that Kim finished his education and his passion for cars, motorcycles and boats began. Kim enjoyed travelling and for many winters he drove his grandparents to their winter vacation spots. Kim went to work for Keystone Glass in 1977 and from there went to CDC Home and Leisure where he worked for many years. In the early 90's, Kim moved to Victoria, BC where he worked various jobs: construction, landscaping, and marine maintenance. In 2000, Kim moved to Vancouver, the city he came to love. He began some part time volunteer work for St. Paul's Advocacy office in 2005 in addition to working casual at a lumber yard. The ocean brought Kim real pleasure; he spent many hours touring the harbours and watching the ships and boats, it was his retirement dream come true. Kim is survived by his sisters Nancy (Brent) Payne and Lynda Sharratt; nephews Brock Payne and Shawn MacDougall; aunt Doreen Sharratt, uncle Frank Jezzard and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his mother Marion Wiebe and father Lynn Sharratt. Kim will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at the Brandon Cemetery.
