ANDERSON: Rev. Stewart Anderson of Carberry, MB passed away on June 19, 2017 at the age of 89. Stewart was the youngest son of William and Ethel Anderson, and was predeceased by a brother Stan and sisters Isabelle and Olive. He attended school in Arden, MB and at age 18 he left home to teach on a permit. He then went on to work for Manitoba Pool Elevators. On June 27, 1953 he married Dorynne Hipwell of Arden. They lived at Strathclair, MB where he bought grain. While there he embarked on new employment with the Co-op. In 1962 he bought a restaurant business in The Pas. In 1965 he found his true vocation, and entered into the ministry of the United Church of Canada where he served God faithfully for 31 years. He served charges at Snow Lake, Empress AB, Bowsman, Birch River, Minitonas, and Carberry. Stewart was always involved in the communities where he lived. He helped build arenas in Strathclair and Bowsman, a church building in Snow Lake, a manse in Bowsman, and a church hall in Carberry. His passion for hockey had him playing, reffing, and coaching bantam and midget boys. He also enjoyed playing and umping baseball. Stewart was blessed with the gift of music, and loved to share it with others. He also loved to dance especially polkas. His lasting legacy was his love for God, love for his family, and his love for those with whom he came in contact. He touched many lives with his friendship and caring. Stewart leaves to mourn his wife Dorynne, 4 children: Dale (Marlene), Karen (Greg), Shawn (David), and Kelly (Pam) 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 niece. The celebration of life for Stewart was held in Carberry United Church on June 24, 2017 with Rev. Peggy Reid officiating. Internment took place in Neepawa Riverside Cemetery before the service. Grandson Grady Anderson was the urn bearer. White's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
