SIGURDSON: Shirley Lorraine Sigurdson passed away peacefully at the Assiniboine Centre on Sunday, March 26, 2017, at the age of 80 years. Shirley was predeceased by her beloved husband Bud, parents Albert and Kathleen Petrick, and brother Bob Petrick. She is lovingly remembered by sister Doreen Delmage, sister-in-law Marg Petrick as well as many nieces and nephews and lifelong friends. Born July 13, 1936 Shirley spent her whole life living in Brandon. She was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 3, a founding member of the Riverview Curling Club, and a member of the Foresters. Besides curling she enjoyed many other activities like cross country skiing, waterskiing, camping, boating and fishing. Together with friends and relatives Shirley loved to travel, taking trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, and spending many winters in the States. Shirley was a devoted Wheat Kings fan, rarely missing a game on the radio, even in the hospital. A graveside service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Shirley may be made to a charity of choice.
