LOEWEN: Bertha Jean Loewen passed away peacefully Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Fairview Home in Brandon, Manitoba. She was born on October 21, 1920 in Kisbey, Saskatchewan. Bertha had a long, full, productive life. She was very active in the First Baptist Church, particularly the Baptist Womens group. Bertha enjoyed gardening, bowling, golfing, fishing, camping, traveling, music, puzzles, and knitting. She was an excellent cook . most famous for her Bertha Buns! Many hours were spent playing cards and socializing with friends and family. Her great sense of humour carried her through the difficult times. Bertha had a great will and spirit to carry on. Predeceased by husband, Peter, in November, 1997, Bertha is survived by daughters: Linda Dutchak and Dorin Sherriff and son Mel (Wendy) Loewen. Grandchildren: Sandy (Toni) Dutchak, Susan Dutchak (Bill Murphy), Lynn Park (Jung Hwan), Mark Sherriff (Alisha Hall), Erin Loewen, Jeff (Jenn) Loewen. Great Grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Bryce Dutchak, Connor Dutchak-Murphy, and Caroline Sherriff. Also numerous loving relatives and friends. A grateful Thank You to the 3rd floor staff at Fairview. A Celebration of Berthas Life was held at the First Baptist Church, 3881 Park Avenue, on Friday, September 15 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bertha's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
