RODDY: Throughout her life Dr. Micheale Susan Roddy formed and maintained open and honest relationships with her family, colleagues, and friends. Despite occasionally offending, and at times rendering one speechless she cared unequivocally. She cared for all sentient beasts, most sentient humans, and applied the same devout keenness to all that she chose to undertake. Most of what (and who) she invested time and energy into had the potential to impart positive change on humanity, within her various communities, within her family, or within her being. Her passion and intensity were most evident in her unremitting dedication to her lifes work in research mathematics (most recently orthomodular lattices), but permeated her other circles (politics, the LGBTQ community, the church, charity, and various athletics) and urged those around her to expect better of themselves. She will be a dearly missed eldest child, eldest sibling, selfless parent, and loving friend and will remain an everlasting reminder to continue our search for peace within. Now the crickets are singing, the vesper bells ringing,The cats curled asleepin his chairIll go down to Bills Bar, I can make it that farAnd Ill see if my friends are still there.Yes, and heres to the few, who forgive what you doAnd the fewer who dont even careSusan took herself to a more peaceful place on October 5, 2017. A memorial to celebrate her life and body of work will be held in the Louis Riel Room at Brandon University (her first church) on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 2:30 pm on. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to Samaritan House Ministries, Brandon, MB.
