SCHETTLER: Nola Irene Schettler passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon, MB at the age of 87 years. Nola was born on May 9, 1930 in Broadview, SK to Samuel and Caroline (Gathercole) Bourns. Nola married Glen Schettler on June 2, 1950 in Broadview, SK, moving to Brandon in 1973. Nola loved parenting, watching her childrens sports, playing bingo and collecting stamps and coins. In later years, Nola shared her kind and gentle spirit with her grandchildren. Nola was predeceased by her parents, sisters Nettie Chaykowski, Doreen (Scott) McNairn, brothers Patrick and Allan, husband Glen, daughter Katherine, grandchildren Murray and Melissa. Nola will be sadly missed by her sisters Muriel Bohn and Roberta (Doug) Bourns-Brown, her children Tom (Eva) of Calgary, Geraldine (Jake) Fehr of Winnipeg, Bernadine (Roland) Bursey of Winnipeg, Bryan (Julia) of Brandon, Dave (Paula) of Kleefeld, 16 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. All are welcome to join the family to Celebrate Nolas Life at a graveside service at the Broadview Cemetery, Broadview, SK on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. (SK Time).
