TIBBATTS: Ethel Kellar Tibbatts, beloved wife of the late Howard Blainie (Spike) Tibbatts passed away peacefully October 26, 2017 at Evergreen Place Personal Care Home, in Boissevain, Manitoba. Ethel was born September 10, 1912 at Margaret, Manitoba the first child of A.J. and Kate McMillan. Ethel spent her early years in Margaret school, then completed her high school education at Kelvin High School in Winnipeg. On December 27, 1971 Ethel married Howard Blainie (Spike) Tibbatts and together, in their retirement years, spent countless hours planting flowers, cutting grass, and trimming trees and hedges throughout the village of Margaret. It was during this time that the Good Roads Association of Manitoba awarded Margaret the honour of the Best Kept Village in its category. Ethel was blessed with remarkably good health of body and mind until her passing at age 105. Ethel was predeceased by her husband Spike, her parents, her sisters Maxine Riddell, Jean Penner, Rae McMillan, brother-in-law Philip Riddell and nephews Grant and Brian Riddell. She is survived by her brother Ross McMillan, sister-in- law Martha McMillan, brothers-in-law John Penner, Ralph Tibbatts, sister-in-law Donnie Tibbatts and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Ethels life was held October 31, 2017 at Minto United Church with Rev. Rolanda Taylor officiating, with interment at the Margaret Cemetery.
