ORSER: It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Mom, Corie Orser, on Friday, November 3, 2017. She was predeceased by her husband, our father, Mel Orser (MJO) in 1999 and our sister Corinne in 2001. Mom was born in Carnduff, SK in 1925 to Bernard and Cornelia Steenbruggen. She was close with all her siblings, John, Pete, Alida, Joan, and Bert and their families. She married Dad in 1947 and raised three daughters, Melorie, Corinne and Darlene. She was a kind and thoughtful person, and loved helping others. She taught kindergarten in our home for many years and as well taught at Linden Lanes and then Meadows School in Brandon. Mom and Dad moved to Winnipeg and then Montreal with CP Rail and upon retirement returned to live in Brandon. They enjoyed their many CP friends and were involved in square dancing, curling, entertaining, and card games with family and friends. They loved having their daughters and husbands along with their grandchildren visit them in Brandon and Clear Lake whenever possible. Following Dad's death in 1999, Mom moved to Calgary to be near Melorie and Darlene and their families. Following a slow decline in her health this past year and a half, Mom passed away, with her family at her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her family Melorie and Glen Ormiston and children Carmen and Chris (Shea and Ty), Darlene and Jack Bosworth and sons Jeff and Jason (Ashley) and grandson Terry Kreller (Addey), sister Joan McCumber, brother Bert Steenbruggen, sisters-in-law Norma Jean Coates and Doreen (Bob) Kilpatrick, nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. A Memorial Service will held in the spring of 2018 in Brandon, Manitoba. Messages of condolence may be placed at www.brockiedonovan.com
