McGILL: William Murray passed away peacefully on Monday, October 23, 2017 at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon at the age of 73 years. Murray was born in 1944 in Glenboro, MB to Leslie and Francis McGill. The family moved to Brandon in 1960 from the farm in Belmont. After leaving school, Murray worked for Co-op and Watkins. While working for Watkins, he was transferred to Winnipeg where he met his wife, Dorothy. They were married in October of 1965. They returned to Brandon where their four children were born. Murray drove his own truck for Trimac for ten years and Arnold Bros. for five years. In 1992, the family moved to the Alexander area to farm. While continuing to truck, until 2016, Murray had a haying operation and feedlot. In his spare time, Murray could be found at the track in Winnipeg with his thoroughbreds. Murray was predeceased by his brother Dennis (Chuck) in 2016. Murray will be lovingly remembered by his wife Dorothy; his two sons: Les (Val) and Rob (Catherine); two daughters: Deborah (Wayne) and Amanda (Sean) and 10 grandchildren: Ashley, Matthew, Paige, Chelsey, Olivia, Jayline, Haley, Shae, Cooper and Cody; brother Wayne and family. He will also be missed by his life-long friend, Ray Lang and Dorothy’s family. A Funeral Service was held on Monday, October 30, 2017 at St. George’s Church in Brandon, MB. The family would like to thank the staff of the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Assiniboine Centre and the Renal Clinic.
