TEMPLETON: Margaret Cathrine Templeton passed away peacefully November 27th, 2017 at Fairview Care Home in Brandon after a lengthy struggle with cancer. She was born in Newdale, MB on December 7th, 1918, the second oldest daughter of James and Sarah Milne. She was one of 5 sisters. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Hugh in 1969, 3 sisters Elsie Wilson in 2009, Florence Brown in 2017 and Gertie Templeton in 2017 as well as their spouses. She is survived by sister Olive who resides in St. Boniface. She leaves behind her daughter Sandra (Gerry) Kingdon of Spedden, AB and Doug (Velma) Templeton of Plymouth, Minnesota along with 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Also, many nieces, nephews and their families. Mum and Dad started life out together in Sudbury Ontario in 1940. They moved back home in late 1944 and farmed in the Pettipeace district, Newdale and later on the home farm in Basswood. In 1953 they purchased the General Store in Basswood selling it in 1966. After Dads passing in 1969, Mum worked a short time in Minnedosa for Alexander Pharmacy before moving to Brandon. In Brandon, she worked for Brandon Hardware which incurred a few ownership changes during the years she worked there and then retired when the store was destroyed by fire. She later moved to the Lions manor from her home on 3rd and Richmond. Mum had a great sense of humour and really enjoyed a good time and a good joke with friends and family. She loved spending time with her grand kids and the memories are many among them. A very special thanks to Linda Creighton for all her support and help to Mum and Sandra and I during these past few months. Also to the complete 1st floor staff at Fairview and Dr. Dion. They were so kind and helpful to our Mum over the past 8 years. At Mums request, she has been cremated. Interment will follow on May 19th at which time we can get our families all together. Arrangements have not been finalized at this time. Minnedosa Funeral Service in care of arrangements.Messages of condolencemay be placed atwww.minnedosafs.ca
