ROBINSON: Grace Alicia, age 86, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Valleyview Care Centre in Brandon, MB. From her birth in Guy’s Hill, Saint Catherines, Jamaica to her death on Thursday, she nourished people around her with kindness, faith and music. Born to Allan and Florette (Bell) Robinson on January 14, 1932, she was the second of four children. Grace was an adventurer and moved to Canada in the 1960’s living in Montreal, QC, Goose Bay, NL and Ottawa, ON just to name a few. She graduated with honours from McGill University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and followed up her studies at Concordia University obtaining her Masters in Finance. She went on to work for the Canada Ports Corporation in Ottawa for 16 years, retiring as VP Finance. Grace was a lifelong learner and enjoyed playing music (violin and piano), gardening, sewing, yoga, aqua fit and outdoor concerts (Jazz and Chamber music). Left to honour Grace and remember her love and kindness are her daughter Manon (Jason), grandchildren Amayah and A.J., brother Adrian (Janine) and sister Faye (Charles), along with 8 nieces and 2 nephews. Grace was preceded in death by her parents and sister Sadie. She will be remembered as a bright shining light in the churches and organization she served and in the hearts of the people she knew.
