ROBERTSON: Barbara Ann. Life is the greatest gift we receive! Yet it always seems to end in sorrow. So it is this 20th of April, 2018 with the passing of our beloved mother Barbara Ann Robertson (Ross). Mom was born November 20, 1934 in Melita Manitoba, where she attended school and later worked for the Royal Bank of Canada. It was here that she met the love of her life, Boyd. Barb and Boyd were married September 4, 1953. Barb and Boyd were not a couple, they were a unit of one. You could not mention one without mentioning the other. Behind every great man stands a great woman. Mom was definitely that. She tended the home front while Dad's career took him away from home. She was a pillar of strength during her daughter Jan's passing. During their marriage, Dad's work would take them to live in many locals. Making friends everywhere they went. Winnipeg Manitoba, Great Falls Montana, Thunder Bay (Fort William) Ontario, Montreal Quebec, Halifax Nova Scotia, Oakville Ontario, Regina Saskatchewan, Onanole (Riding Mountain National Park), Manitoba, and Minnedosa Manitoba. Upon Dad's passing Mom moved once more, to Outlook Saskatchewan to be closer to family. Mom lived an active life. She was into bowling, curling, ball, golf and even dabbled at one of many types of card games around the kitchen table. She enjoyed playing the piano and one of her greatest gifts was presenting a piano to each of us, so that our children would have that opportunity. Barb is predeceased by her parents Allister and Millie Ross, her loving husband Boyd Robertson, daughter Janice (Steeves), great granddaughter Hope (Steeves) as well as brothers Roy, Jack, sister Melba (Walker). Remembered by her daughter Cheryl (Bill McMahon); son Ian (Sue); son-in-law Gord (Steeves) as well as 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; brother Doug Ross; brothers-in-law Jim Walker, Garth (Lorraine) Robertson, Lyle (Adeline) Robertson; her adopted Myers family and numerous nephews and nieces. We will greatly miss her unconditional love and support, her positive attitude and her enthusiasm for life. She was incredible and her beautiful spirit will be forever in our hearts and minds. Mom and Dad loved to dance. The wait is over Dad, your dance partner has joined you! You can waltz again once more! We would like to thank the doctors, nurses, caregivers for their kindness and compassion. Donations can be made to The Terry Fox foundation. In lieu of donations: Hug a loved one and tell them you love them. Life is too short not to let them know that. Service will be held in Onanole, Manitoba. Date to be determined. Arrangements are in care of Outlook Funeral Chapel 306-867-8255.
