LANGLOIS: On April 30, 2018 Wayne Maurice Langlois at St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 74. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Linda (nee Nelson), his sons, Riel (Jennifer) of Leaf Rapids, Drue of Toronto and Myles of Brandon and his grandchildren Thomas, Franchesca and Joseph. He was predeceased by his parents Maurice and Ella and his brother David. Wayne was born in Rouyn-Noranda, QC on June 6, 1943. He grew up in The Pas and Churchill. He graduated with a degree in Geology from Brandon University. He and Linda were married in 1965. Wayne was a teacher in Churchill, Shilo and The Pas from 1967 till 1973 when he became manager of the Liquor Store in Churchill. In 1975 he became Manager of Manitoba Housing for Churchill and then transferred to Thompson in 1977. He transferred to Brandon, still with Housing in 1987. In 1992 he began working with Assessment in Morden and spent 5 years there. While there he began his work with the Union and continued doing union work when he transferred back to Brandon where he worked with Assessment till he retired in 2003. In Brandon he was on the John Howard Society Board and The Brandon Regional Health Board. Wayne was extremely proud of all his sons accomplishments and spoke often of their creative talents. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren and making crafts or sharing gardening plans with them. He had plans to go fishing and metal-detecting with them this summer. Wayne loved working in his garden and greenhouse, growing many things, especially tomatoes which he said he could live on, fresh from his garden. Besides gardening he loved fishing, reading, communicating with his many friends and visiting with his cousins. He loved a good auction and had a special interest in coin auctions as he was a coin collector and evaluator. He enjoyed flea markets and was a vendor at many of them. He was a man of many interests and never stopped educating himself. He was a Geologist and had a lifelong fascination with rocks. He loved to go fishing. Someone recently told us that, when he first met him Wayne told him, Even in the smallest stream, there might be a fish. To honour Waynes wishes, there has been no service. Donations in memory of Wayne may be made to a charity of choice.
