BRAGDON: Rita Christie, April 24, 1940-May 15, 2018. Rita Bragdon passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the age of 78 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, two sons Kelly (Halina) and Kenneth (Leslie) and two grandchildren Chelsea and Amorrissa. Rita and Carl were married in Manitoba and spent much of their early family life travelling and stationed in several cities across Canada due to Carl’s service with the military. They eventually settled in Calgary. Rita enjoyed sewing and made beautiful star quilts that reflected her Sioux heritage. She was predeceased by her father James Kiyewakan and mother Ada Wasicuna; sisters Nancy Pompana, Rose Crane, Cora Bray, Josephine Kiyewakan and brother Morris and in infancy Pearly Jane and Wilfred Leo, as well as other extended family members. “Those we love do not go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,Still loved, still missed and very dear”A funeral service will be held for Rita at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Martindale Chapel (95 Martindale Dr. NE, Calgary) on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Messages of condolences may be forwarded to the family at www.piersons.ca
