PENNY: Robert Glen Duke. It is with sadness that the Penny family wishes to share with you his recent passing at the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre on May 20, 2018. Glen was born on October 3, 1946. Glen was predeceased by his mother Alice Penny and his father Sam Penny of Virden, MB. Glen is survived by his 3 older brothers, Lorne Doupe and his family of Port Colbourne, ON, Don and Sandra Penny of Onanole, MB, Keith and Marilyn Penny and family of Taber, AB and sister Mary of Barrie, ON. Glen, also known as Duke lived most of his life in Virden, MB and the last 15 years in Winnipeg. Glen loved his time at the Central and Gulf coffee shops visiting with his local friends. Glen was a quiet man but one that truly enjoyed peoples company and respected the many changing characters who passed through his life. Glen mentioned that I can hardly wait to see Mom and Dad. The family will be holding a private family service at a later date. For more information please call (204) 761-2182. We, the family on behalf of Glen, want to thank the staff and medical people of Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. We also wish to thank the staff and his friends at Arlington House in Winnipeg for continuing to look after him and the friendship that they provided while residing there.
