ADAMO: Maria Adamo passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Monday, June 25, 2018 at the age of 82 years. Maria was born in Torano Castello, Italy on January 9, 1936. She grew up and attended school in a small town surrounded by friends and family. Maria looked after all of her brothers and sisters while her Mom and Dad worked on their land. She married Mario Adamo on May 9, 1954 and came to Canada in 1957 as a new mother. During her lifetime, Maria worked at the family owned store in Italy. When she moved to Canada, she started as a dishwasher at the Princess Café. In the 60s, she owned a restaurant called Marios for many years. She continued to work in the restaurant business until her retirement from the Autopac coffee shop. Maria joined the CWL in 1987 and became a very active and devoted member. She was proud to receive the Maple Leaf pin presented by her CWL peers. Family and friends meant the world to Maria, and she loved to entertain and feed everyone. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed making her own wine. Maria will lovingly be remembered by her son Peter Adamo, daughter Pina (Shane) Boles, granddaughter Meagan (Chris) Carnegie, great-grandchild Alex, brothers and sisters Dina Auriti, Frank (Karen) Fazio, Maggie (Gary) Somerville, John (Judy) Fazio and many nieces and nephews. Maria was predeceased by her husband Mario Adamo, father and mother Antonio and Annita Fazio, daughter-in-law Elizabeth Adamo and brother-in-law Nick Auriti. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Augustines Roman Catholic Church, 327-4th Street, Brandon, MB on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Kelly Wilson as Celebrant. Interment followed at the Brandon Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were Amedeo Tocci, Pat Hamilton, Maria Adamo, Kelly Hamilton, Heber Gerena and Chris Carnegie. Honorary Pallbearers were Chriss Wiereinski and Marie Antonette. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Maria may be made to St. Augustines Church, 327-4th Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 2W8.
