BAKER: Surrounded by the love of her family, Agnes Elizabeth Margaret Baker (nee Finnie), peacefully entered into her eternal rest on June 27, 2018 at the age of 102 years. Agnes was born May 20, 1916 in Elphinstone, MB to John and Mary Finnie. She was one of eight children. She attended United College, and the “Normal School” in Brandon. While she was teaching at Crocus Hills School that she met Jim Baker, the love of her life and her husband of 65 years. Together, they farmed in the Cameron district. The couple had a daughter, Marian, and eventually moved to Minnedosa where they lived for the rest of their lives. Their home was a welcoming place and Agnes was always happy when children were around! The highlight of Agnes’ life was the arrival of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Following Jim’s death in 2005, Agnes continued to live in her home until she was 96 years of age, before taking up residence at the Minnedosa Personal Care Home. She very much enjoyed her six and one-half years at the care home, and her family is very thankful to all there for the wonderful care she received.
