COLE: Frederick Charles Cole passed away peacefully with his family around him on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the age of 88. Fred was born on March 3, 1930 in Reeder district, Manitoba to Frederick William and Edythe (Crosby) Cole. Fred was raised on the family farm near Elkhorn, Manitoba with his four siblings. He went to West Two Creeks School where he later became a teacher. Fred loved to ride horses, curl, and play hockey, fastball, and pool. As a young adult, he trained bird dogs in Canada and the US. Fred was best known for his work and passion as an educator. He taught in West Two Creeks, Goulter and Virden Junior High schools. He finished his career as the Assistant Superintendent of Fort La Bosse School Division. He will be sadly missed by his loving family: wife, Merle (nee Stewart); children, Terry Lynne Balcaen (Larry), Kathy Horn (Neil McLeod), and Ron Cole (Tina Estabrooks ) nine grandchildren and 11great grandchilden. Funeral services will be Friday, June 6, 2018 at 2pm in St. Pauls United Church, Virden. In Liu of flowers, please make a donation in honour of Fred to a charity of your choice.
