LAMONT: Jim (Peter James) Lamont, October 6, 1949-July 25, 2018. It is with heavy hearts that the family announces our dear husband, father and friend passed away peacefully on July 25, 2018 at Tri-Lake Health Center. Jim was born in Brandon, MB on October 6, 1949. Jim will be missed by his loving wife Susan; son Paul (Taryn) and daughter Sherri (Mark) Lund and grandson Abram, brother Tom (Bette), nephews and nieces, and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Donna and Hugh Lamont. He was raised in the Minto/Margaret area then moved to Killarney for the remainder of his school years. In his teenage years he worked with Jack Clements and then he took his heavy duty mechanics and started his career at White Trucks (Freightliner). It was in Winnipeg where he met the love of his life Susan Woodley. In 1975 they got married and in 1976 they moved to Killarney where Jim farmed, and worked many positions at John Deere over the course of his life. In retirement, he would work various jobs, and officially retired from Paterson Crop Inputs in 2010. Retirement was filled with many things, as he never liked to sit still. Anything from helping with renovations at the kid’s homes to playing in the yard, and in the winter months heading down to their 2nd home at Carriage Manor, in Mesa, AZ. It is there where they loved to spend the winters, playing pickleball, tennis and golfing. The love and the friendships they gained over the years are cherished. Jim loved playing host in his own home, curling and playing a round of golf at the various courses in Southwest Manitoba with dear friends. Jim was a gentle soul, he had a passion for life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held Monday, July 30 at 2:00 p.m. at the Killarney United Church.
