LEVICH: Dorothy May Levich (nee Fox) of Newdale/Basswood passed away August 31, 2018 at Brandon Regional Hospital peacefully with family by her side at the age of 55. Dorothy was born May 12, 1963 in Winnipeg, MB to Lucille and Jim Fox. At the age of 6 the family relocated to Minnedosa, MB where Dorothy attended school graduating grade 12 in 1981. In her youth she enjoyed figure skating along with a variety of other sports and activities including family camping trips, summers at the beach and fishing with the hopes of always bringing in a master angler. At an early age Dorothy developed a strong love of animals starting with cats and dogs progressing to living on an acreage with husband Tom where they raised a wide variety of animals from potbellied pigs, goats, cows, donkeys and chickens. Dorothy’s hobby farm gave her absolute joy and contentment. Dorothy’s employment included co-managing Sears in Minnedosa, working at a local grocery store before moving to the country where she secured a position with Canada Post in Newdale eventually being promoted to the Postmaster position which she’s held for the past 10 years. Dorothy was predeceased by her mother Lucille in 1985 and her father Jim in 2004. Surviving are her husband Tom of 18 years, sister Lindan (Greg) Willms, niece Brittany (Jack) Lajoie, and nephews Tyrus and Colton Willms. A memorial service was held September 6, 2018 at Newdale, MB with Elgin Hall officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy’s honor may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one’s choice. Minnedosa Funeral Service in care of arrangements.www.minnedosafs.ca
