SIMPSON: Joan. June 4, 1946 - October 10, 2018. It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, wife, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother Joan Simpson (Joanie), formerly of Brandon, MB and retired to Abbotsford, BC. Joan is survived by her husband Wayne of 39 years, her 3 children: son, Jim (Jeanette), grandson Jordon (Rebecca), great-granddaughter Clara, granddaughter Jazmin (Anthony), grandson Jamie, daughter Kim (Barry), grandson Hunter, son Mark, grandson Zackery, granddaughter Rebekka. Joan is from a family of five children; sister Audrey (Gerald), brother Edward, sister Suzanne and sister Delphene. She was born in Winnipeg and moved to Brandon early in life. Joan attended BU where she earned her Bachelor of Nursing. She then went on to teaching the Nursing program at Assiniboine College. She also held many critical positions at Brandon General Hospital. It was with great determination and courage that she accomplished her goals. Joan lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed bowling, scuba diving, traveling, sharing the love of sports with her husband, her friends and her family. Our Joanie will be dearly missed by her numerous friends and family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
