PARSONAGE: Walter Seigrave Parsonage, age 87 years, passed away at Rideau Park Personal Care Home on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. Walter was born on May 6, 1931 in Baldur, Manitoba. While growing up and working on the family farm, he attended Greenway Elementary School and Baldur High School. Walter bought the farm from his father in 1962 and continued to farm the land and raise cattle. He was a great cattle man and cared for them well. A member of the curling and Belgium Bowling Clubs of Baldur, Walter was also a Director of the Greenway Fair Board for years. Curling and watching hockey and baseball were favorite pastimes. In his later years, he enjoyed all games of cards and played shuffle board in Mesa, winning several trophies. Predeceased by his parents, brothers Frank and Harry, one sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Walter will be deeply missed by his loving wife Doris and stepchildren, Lynda, Karen and Bill and their families, sisters Jessie Matchett of Treherne, Minnie Haggerty of Delta, British Columbia, and brother Jack (Lorraine) of Winnipeg. The Celebration of Walter's Life was held at Memories Chapel on Friday, November 23, 2018. The Rev. Christopher Evetts of St. Mary's Anglican Church officiated. Urn Bearer was his great-granddaughter Ashton English. Interment will be at Rosewood Memorial Gardens at a later date.
