WHITELAW: Brenda Denise Whitelaw, 1958-2018. Brenda Denise Whitelaw, aged 60, passed away on December 14, 2018 at the Brandon Regional Hospital. She had fought a short battle with lung cancer ultimately succumbing to her illness. Brenda was predeceased by her parents Benjamin and Violet Hopkins. Brenda was born In Neepawa, Manitoba on July 2, 1958. She leaves to mourn her partner Allan McDonald, children Leslie (Kristin), Ashley (Steve), brothers and sisters Gail, Richard (Shelly), Terry, Thomas, grandchildren Kurtis, Dakota, Denika, Jason, Leila, Aiden, Natasha and great grandchild Aubrey. Also her extended family Ronny (Gail), Brian, Heather (Shea) and family, Janna (Corey) and family, Devin and family and last but not least her many nephews and nieces. Brenda was raised in the Clanwilliam area where she started going to school then later moving to Erickson and going to school there. In 1976 she married Brent Whitelaw and they have two children (Leslie and Ashley). She was a stay at home mother until the children were old enough to take care of themselves. She then went on to become a housekeeper in the Clear Lake area. Separating from her husband Brent in 1998 she remained in Erickson and worked in the area for a few more years. In 2006 she met Allan McDonald of Sidney, Manitoba. A couple of years later she moved in with Allan in Sidney where she found a new love for cows. In the years to come Allan purchased a camper trailer for them to go camping in. This camper ended up in Sandy Lake, Manitoba where they enjoyed staying on their weekends. They enjoyed meeting so many new friends there that Allan sold the camper and purchased a cabin for them to enjoy even more good times. They continued to have good times with friends and family until August this year when Brenda fell ill to the lung cancer that ended up taking her life. She will be dearly missed by all. Funeral arrangements were taken care of by Whites Funeral Home at St. Marks Anglican Church in Minnedosa, Manitoba at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 20. Lunch followed at the Minnedosa Community Conference Centre. Lunch was provided by The Sidney Community Centre.
