DAVIES: Lee Hughes Davies, October 23, 1943 - June 12, 2018. Lee was born in Brandon and from an early age loved life to the fullest. As a teen he played football with the Brandon Krugers and at Brandon College sang with the Minnesingers folk group. The heritage family home in Brandon and the cottage at Clear Lake hosted Lees many friends. Lee worked for Bell Canada in Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa. In 1967 he married Virginia Carolyn Ferguson. Son Robert was born in Willowdale and then Andrew in Ottawa. Lee was seconded to Northern Telecom and moved his family to Texas and later to Atlanta where the boys married and are raising their families. Lee enjoyed fixing things, gardening, travel, golf, and a good martini. Sadly Lee died suddenly at his home in North Port, Florida. He was predeceased by his parents Joan and Humphrey Davies; his Uncle Eric Davies; and by his wife Ginny who died on May 8, 2010. He is survived by Rob (Liz, grandsons Carter and Finn); Andrew (Jenni, grandson Brigham); brother Clair (Valerie); nephews Mark (Kris, Shelby, Kiefer), Owen (Wendy, Cameron, Quinn) and Ro Davies (Addie, Hunter, Marilla); niece Shauna White (Ted, Nolan, Ava, Rhys). A private family Celebration of the Lives of Lee and Ginny was held at the Davies home on Vancouver Island on December 28, 2018 and then the ashes of Lee and Ginny were set afloat on a small burning raft in Craig Bay on the Strait of Georgia where the ashes of Joan and Humphrey had been scattered in 2001. These special family members are sadly missed but will remain forever in our hearts.
