POTTER: Lloyd Orland Potter of Brandon, MB passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at the age of 96 years. Orland was born on November 9, 1922 in Deloraine, MB to John and Eleanor Potter. After completing his education at Hazeldean School in Deloraine, he worked on the family farm with his father. While on the farm, he met and married Thelma Doris Chandler on May 3, 1947. Orland and Thelma had their first home on the family homestead south of Deloraine. Here they worked a small acreage and had four children. They moved to Brandon in 1955 and had five more children. His first job in Brandon was working for McArthurs delivering milk and cream. In 1956, he started working at the B.M.H.C. where he also took his Psychiatric Nursing training while employed there. He continued to work there until his retirement in 1987. He was also an officer of the B.M.H.C. Credit Union for 17 years. Orland was predeceased by his father John, his mother Eleanor, his brother Howard, his wife Thelma, his eldest son Ron, his granddaughter Angela and his niece Barb. He leaves to mourn his passing his sisters Dorothy and Ruth, his daughters Sharon (Bruce), Patricia (Brian), Debbie, Sandra and Heather, his sons Jack (Darlene), Bob and Bill, his 22 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Brockie Donovan Chapel on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. A private family interment took place at Del-Win Cemetery.
