LITTLE: Marlene Jamina Little nee Morison, passed away at her residence in the Lions Manor in Brandon on January 28, 2019. Marlene was born to parents James and Margaret (Peggy) Morison on the family farm in the Scotia District, east of Pope, Manitoba, followed soon after by her twin sister, Margaret. Marlene and her sisters attended Oakner School and Scotia church growing up and were active in the Oakner 4-H club. After school, Marlene worked for a time in the town office at Hamiota and then at the town office in Minnedosa, before moving to Edmonton, Alberta to become a policewoman at the Edmonton City Police Department. After a few years, she decided to pursue a teaching career. She started teaching in Souris, Manitoba then in the Brandon School Division from which she retired in 1994. Marlene enjoyed spending her summers at Clear Lake and then at the cottage at Sandy Lake enjoying fishing, waterskiing, boating, and socializing with family and friends. In her later years, she loved playing bridge and was active in the Retired Educators League as well as her own group of ladies whose company she enjoyed immensely. Marlene cherished her family and will be missed by her daughter Karen (Larry) and son Kevin, granddaughter Haley (Michael) and great granddaughter Westlyn, granddaughter Erin and grandson Brandon. She will also be missed dearly by her sister Delia Milne, and her 6 nephews and their families. Marlene was predeceased by her parents James and Peggy Morison, sisters Elaine Kruger and Margaret Parkolub, and brothers-in-law Albert Kruger, John Parkolub, and Leslie Milne. At Marlene's request, a private graveside service will be held at a later date.
