PEARSON: Doris Mae (Bowes), February 11, 1928 - March 9, 2019. The family sadly announces the passing of Doris at the Assiniboine Centre on March 9, 2019 at the age of 91 years. Remaining to forever cherish Doris memory are her children Marcia (Michael), Bill (Brenda) and Patty (Perry); grandchildren Lee, Lisa (Joe), Tyler (Jamie), Dani (Chad) and Savannah (Craig); 10 great grandchildren; brother-in-law Ken Smith and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Bill; her parents Mary and John Bowes; sisters Mary, Freda, Iris and Grace; and brothers John, Leonard and David. Doris grew up in the Stonewall, Manitoba area. She married her devoted husband, Bill, in 1948 and had a long and happy marriage of 57 years. They lived in Ottawa for ten years then settled in Brandon in 1965. She was an active member of St. Matthews Cathedral, serving on the Altar Guild and Mardi Club. Doris embraced life in Brandon, both as a homemaker and volunteer. She had a love for golfing, playing bridge, gardening and reading but most of all loved entertaining friends and family. Doris loved to laugh and was always first to lend a hand and help others out. Her kind spirit will be missed by many. Our family wishes to extend gratitude to Ken and the kind, caring staff at Homecare and to Dr. Nichol, the nurses and staff at the Assiniboine Centre.
