BRAEHLER: KLAUSSoldier - Miner - FishermanWith sadness the family announces the sudden passing on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at his home in McAuley, Manitoba, at the age of 83. He was born January 2, 1936 and raised in Germany in the Fulda District, where he attended school and later joined the army. After his military career he immigrated to Canada where he immediately started work in the mine at Thompson for INCO/VALE. He remained there until his retirement. Many stories were told about the “Good old days in Thompson”. He moved to McAuley, Manitoba where he resided until his death. He leaves to mourn, his sister-in-law Maria Braehler and her son Michael, his sister Marlies Schmidt (Werner) and their 2 children Stefan and Michael. Special mention to Mervin and Scott, faithful and loved friends. He was predeceased by his parents Hermann and Else Braehler, his brother Wolfgang Braehler, and his niece Nina Schmidt. A Celebration of Klause’s Life will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the McAuley Country Cafe - Bring your memories to share. Lunch will be served and more.
