DURSTON: Charles Arthur Art beloved husband of Linda of Oak Lake, Manitoba passed away at Brandon Regional Health Centre Thursday, March 21, 2019 in his 81st year. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Bertha Durston. Art will be fondly remembered by his loving wife Linda, daughter Jackie (Ted Boguski), granddaughter Jenna (Kyle), great granddaughters Zoe and Cailin Furkalo, grandson Jared Boguski (Breann), stepson David (Jeannie) and granddaughter Rylee Kaye, mother-in-law Gladys Burney, brother Cliff (Joyce) Durston, and families. Art was born April 24, 1938 in Glenwood RM. He attended school in Griswold, Manitoba and grew up on the family farm. Art and his brother built a garage on 21 highway and ran it for a few years. Art worked many years for Surgro and Western Diesel in Brandon, drove semi for many years for different trucking companies. Art and Brian Taylor built the 4 Seasons Golf Course at the lake in 2006 and 2007. His passion was farming and buying and restoring old trucks and tractors, GMC trucks, Farmall and International tractors. He also enjoyed camping. He belonged to the Pioneer Power and Equipment Club and Oak View Seniors Club. He worked for Kretzers Metals in Oak Lake hauling scraps to Gimli until he was 75 years old. Funeral service was held in Oak Lake, Manitoba, March 27, 2019, officiated by Rev. Harvey Hurren. Burial was at Griswold Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society. Special thanks to the ambulance service in Oak Lake, BRHC, Dr. Tegg and everyone who helped in any way. Funeral arrangements were with G.R. Carscadden Funeral Chapel from Virden, Manitoba.
