SHANNON: Lillian Shannon (Potter/Hean) 1920-2019. It is with sadness that the family and friends of Lillian announce her passing on June 3, 2019 at Valleyview Care Centre in Brandon at the age of 99. Our mom, our grandma, our GG. Left to remember her is her daughter, Nancy and Doug Teney and family, Ryan, Cherie and Elliotte, Jordy, Jill, Ollie and Bryce, and Mitchell; son, Bill and Joan Potter and family, Carrie, Gord, Ben and Ella; Chris, Sheri, Sari and Estella; daughter-in-law, Simone Potter and her family, Jackson, Abby; Bob, Sue, Taylor, Megan and Brett; Jason, Karly, Ellie Rose and Bodie; Dayna, Emma and Gianna; brother, Tom and Jean Hean, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Ollie Bill Potter, son, Rick Potter and grandson, Rick Jr. She enjoyed a rich life and a sharp mind until a few months ago. As Rick Jr. once said, she had a zest for life and a love for her family. She worked at various jobs including managing the Deloraine Theatre, flagging on the highway, and at 54 years old, she took a Health Care Aide Course and worked at Fairview Home until her retirement. At 88 she got a tattoo of a dove on her shoulder. It was certainly a topic of discussion for all who noticed it. Las Vegas was another love of hers. On her 13th trip, she saw Dean Martin perform which was one of her dreams. She also enjoyed crossing the street from Valleyview and going to the VLTs with Nancy and Mitchell. She would go to Nancys curling games and cheer the team on after, of course, giving the girls, Shelley, Nancy, Jill, and Ros, her famous rub for luck. She spent many hours watching curling, golf, horse racing and her favorite game shows on TV. She always enjoyed a good game of crib and loved when the girls, Nancy and her, could beat the boys, Bill and Doug. She loved parties, especially if they were for her! And she took such pride in not looking her age. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. A special thanks to Mary for all her support. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Messages of condolencemay be made online at www.wheatlandfs.comWheatland Funeral Service(204) 523-7791
