PLOWMAN: The death of Albert Kenneth Plowman, beloved husband of the late Merle Plowman (nee Stothart) and father of Rae (Jo-Ann) and the late Richard Stothart and father-in-law of Sheryl Stothart, occurred at Fairview Personal Care Home on Saturday, July 13th, 2019. Albert was born on the family farm east of Douglas just in time to be raised during the “Dirty Thirties” and come of age at the end of WWII. Not wanting to farm he and his brother headed off to seek their fortune in NW Ontario, Northern Alberta and the mines of Saskatchewan. After an accident operating a dozer which left him injured he ended up in Strathclair, MB where he met Merle Stothart, marrying in 1958. After several more moves they settled on Clark Dr. in Brandon and began working for the “Good Roads” until he retired. He was an active member of the Lions Club. AOTS and Knox Church. He loved to tinker in his shop and play the accordion the later until the fall in April entertaining the other Fairview residents whenever he had the opportunity. The ceremony to celebrate Albert’s life will be held at Madford Cemetery (2 miles north of Douglas turn) at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2019 followed by a lunch at the Douglas Hall. Donations in memory of Albert may be made to Westman Christmas Cheer Registry, Box 50003, Brandon, MB, R7A 7E4.
