FINLAY: Beryle Allene Finlay. Beryle passed away at the Bren-Del-Win PCH on August 8th, 2019. Beryle was predeceased by her husband A Rea Finlay; her parents, Edward and Irene Innes; her sisters, Doreen Bell, Helen Gilmore and Ruth Wood; brothers-in-law, Stewart Bell, Harris Gilmore, A.C Wood, sister-in-law, Shirley Innes, her nephew, Graham Bell, her great niece, Brenna Innes. She is survived by her sons Gregg (Cindy) and Gordon (Ginette); grandchildren Rebecca (Andrew), Ian (Diana), Erika (Ron), Rachel, Mark (Megan); great-grandchild, Jacob as well as her brother, Doug Innes. She was “Auntie Beryle” to many caring nieces, nephews and great-nephews and great-nieces. Beryle was born in Deloraine, Manitoba into a family home that was filled with music, laughter and friends. Beryle spent her childhood years in the Kelwood region where her parents, Ed and Rene, always had their door open, the piano warmed up and meals and refreshments ready for everyone who stopped by. Beryle enjoyed dancing, singing and joining in with the piano, violin, clarinet, sax and banjo that entertained the Kelwood and surrounding communities for years. Beryle began her teaching career in 1946, teaching in the Brooks School Division; there, she met Rea Finlay who had recently returned from overseas after the World War II. They were married soon after. Beryle enjoyed many different careers and jobs: Teaching, Insurance, Retail Clothing, Newspaper Reporter, Tupperware Distribution, and Banking. What she really enjoyed was with her family and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchild, relatives and so many friends. She had a wonderful ability to make family and friends feel good about themselves and we will miss her. Interment was conducted by Christopher Davis. Smith Funeral Home had care of the arrangements.
