MYERS: David Morley Myers, formerly of Belmont, MB, passed away suddenly at the Bayside Personal Care Home, Killarney, MB on Wednesday August 21, 2019 at the age 87 years. Morley (Rusty) attended elementary school in Belmont until his dad took sick and he had to quit school to help on the family farm, of which he operated until the 1980's. Morley drove the school bus for approximately 25 years. He also learned to be a projectionist and worked in Morden & Melita for 1 year in each place and operated the Killarney Shamrock Drive Inn Theatre for 26 years. Morley was a member of the Oddfellows Lodge since 1963. He retired to Belmont in 1992. Morley took sick in 2017 and had to move to the Baldur Transition Care Facility. In 2018 he moved to Killarney Bayside Personal Care and became the house musician. He played his beloved guitar from the age of 17 until the day he died. He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter Christine (Kenzie) Fraser of Fort McMurray, AB, son Andrew (Regan) Myers and granddaughters Claire and Kate of Oakbank, MB. He is also survived by sisters Lola (Bob) Whittle of Ashton, ON, Bev Christie of Killarney as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Carol (nee Walker) in 2005, parents Dave and Cora Myers, brothers Marvin (Buzz) and Ken, sister-in-law Myrt and niece Velvet and by brother-in-law Allan Christie.Rest in peace dear Morley. You worked hard all your life and you deserve eternal rest.A Celebration of Morley's life will he held on Thursday August 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Belmont Community Hall with Dennis Schram officiating. Interment will take place in the Hillside Cemetery followed by a reception back in the community hall.
