UNTEREINER: It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the death of Ronald Laverne Untereiner at the age of 84 years on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Valleyview Long Term Care Home in Brandon, Manitoba. Ron was born on January 5, 1935 in Wymark, Saskatchewan and lived most of his life in that beautiful province. He was predeceased by his parents, Adam and Annie Untereiner, his sisters, Wilhelmina (Wilma) Christie, Patricia (Patsy) Olson and Heather Giesbrecht, and his son-in-law, David Gonzo. Ron was a husband to Margaret, a father to Robert, Wendy (Gary McNeely) and Jamie (Keith Chaytor), and a grandfather to Gabriel Gonzo, Jacob Gonzo and Donal McNeely. He is also survived by his brothers, Gerald (Irene) Untereiner and Larry (Gail) Untereiner, sisters, Bernice Simmi and Marlene Hiebert, and nieces and nephews. Ron loved his dogs (Duke, Max, Warf and Jenna), gardening, birds, fishing, walking in the early morning and motorcycling and is remembered for his warmth and sense of humour. As per Ron’s request, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, Ron’s family would appreciate that you plant and care for a tree in his memory.
