STUCKEL: Beverly Judith (Judy) Stuckel (Barford). It is with the greatest sadness, and the deepest sorrow, that the family of Judy Stuckel announces her sudden and tragic passing on November 19, 2019 in at the WHSC in Winnipeg. Mom was born September 15, 1944, to Dorothy and Harold Barford. She lived on the family farm in the Iris, Birdina area with her older sister Hazel, and two younger brothers John and Ed. At the age of 14 they left farm life to run the local store in Reedy Creek, MB. At 17 she left home. She moved to Dauphin, MB where she worked as a cook at the Kings Hotel. She married her first husband in 1963 and they welcomed their first child, a son, in 1964. They moved to Brandon in 1966 where their second child, a girl, was born in 1968. A divorce in 1976 left her to raise her children alone. She worked two jobs to support her family. Working evenings at Canada Post Office and picking up night shifts at Sunset Haven Nursing Home. Mom was never one to let life get her down. Her courage, strength, love and selflessness, will always be remembered by her children and those that knew her. Mom always wanted and tried so hard to give us so much, while so many times doing without herself. In 1985 Mom met Larry Stuckel, they were married June 7, 1986. They purchased a small hobby farm in Onanole, MB, from there they moved to Yellowknife, NWT to experience a new way of life. Two years later they moved to Salmon Arm, BC. After the birth of her first grandchild, Mom decided it was time to move back home to Manitoba, residing back in the Brandon area. She retired from the Post Office after 28 years. After the death of her husband in 2015 Mom moved to her current residence, a retirement apartment, where many new friends were made. As much as Mom loved her family, she loved her lifelong friends Rae, Colleen, Shirl, Clara, Shirley K. and so many more. We know they will all miss her friendship. Mom was never one to be idle. She enjoyed being outside, camping, fishing, gardening, always ready for a game of cards, Scrabble and Saturday night bingo with the girls. She travelled often to visit her brothers in Alberta, and her son in BC. Mom also had a great love for her little dog Maggie. Judy will be lovingly remembered by her son Benson Bourassa (Brenda), grandson Chance; daughter Rhonda Ross (Buddy), granddaughters Andrea (Evan), Amy (Will); brother John Barford (Sharon), nieces Sheri (Al) and Tammy; brother Ed Barford (Garda), nephew Eddie (Shannon), niece Barb Schultz (Bob), niece Bev Asham; sister-in-law Clara Mitchell (Clarence), niece Barb, nephew Trevor; and all her great-nieces and nephews. Judy was predeceased by her husband Larry Stuckel; parents Harold and Dorothy (Hurst) Barford; sister Hazel Asham; brother-in-law Ray Asham; nephew Brent Asham. In keeping with Moms wishes, there will be no public service. November 19th God called an angel home - We called her Mom
