ARMSTRONG: William Elliott Eldridge Armstrong, February 17, 1939 January 9, 2020. Elliott stepped onto the conveyor of life on February 17, 1939 and had to step off on January 9, 2020. It was time for Elliott to move onto another dimension. Family was very important to Elliott, and he raised well-rounded independent daughters: Laura, Marie (Rob) and Lisa. Elliotts conveyor also consisted of five grandchildren: Julie, Andrew, Derek, Kim, Ryan; and six great grandchildren along with sisters: Lillian, Gladys, Gertrude (deceased), Edna (deceased); and many nieces and nephews. Elliotts diverse working career included working as a telecommunications technician in the Royal Canadian Air Force, and on the DEW Line (Distance Early Warning Line) where he monitored the radar systems in the Yukon and Northwest Territories. Elliott was a proud Legion member and a member of both the Brandon and Winnipeg Amateur Radio Clubs. His favourite pastimes were researching the family tree, dabbling in the stock market, and writing computer code. Elliott was hard working, committed and always quick to offer assistance. For the past decade, Elliott lived at the Golden West Personal Care Home where he received exemplary care and kindness from the staff. Cherish all your memories with Elliott and remember him with fondness. Celebration of Life gathering will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday January 18, 2020 at Southlands Community Church of the Salvation Army, 85 Keslar Road, Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Golden West Personal Care Home.
