MAILHOT: Marguerite Clementine. It is with great sadness that we, Marguerite’s family, announce her peaceful passing at the age of 95, at Bayside Personal Care Home on December 16, 2019. Marguerite will be remembered by Dollard, her husband of 65 years; daughters Jeannine (Jim) Enns, Carole (Victor) Boulet, and sons Rene, and Roger (Kelly) Mailhot; grandchildren Daniel (Lauri), Bryan (Brandy) Enns, and Joelle Enns, Andrea (Charlie) Boulet Smith; Mario, Kyle, Vanessa and Celina Mailhot; Joshua and Nicholas Mailhot; as well as five great grandchildren. She leaves to mourn two brothers and eight sisters as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Marguerite now joins her parents, Joseph and Clementine Damphousse; brothers Denis and Jean, brothers-in-law Lionel, Alcide, Paul, Olier, Raymond, Jules and Charles, sisters-in-law Carmelle, Marie-Marthe, Laurette and Fernande. In addition to her participation and strong devotion to the church, Marguerite was quite involved in the Dunrea community through the years, as a 4-H leader, member of St. Felix de Valois Ladies Auxiliary, and secretary of the Dunrea New Horizons Centre. She worked alongside Dollard for over 40 years in the hotel business, preparing many meals and hosting an annual Damphousse Family Christmas for about 15 years. She was an avid gardener, homemaker, and crafter. She spent countless hours sewing, enjoyed needlework of all kinds, especially quilting, which was her favorite. Her family has benefited from this talent, which was passed down by her mother. A celebration of Marguerite’s life was held on Saturday, December 21 at the St. Felix de Valois Catholic Church in Dunrea. In lieu of flowers, donations in the memory of Marguerite may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 1000-191 Lombard Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3B 0X1 or to the Alzheimer’s Society of Manitoba, 457-9th Street, Unit 4B, Brandon, MB R7A 1K2.
