McCALLUM: Winnifred Jean was born Christmas Eve 1928, daughter of Tom and Bertha Webb, and died January 15, 2020. Winnie was predeceased by her parents, husband Neil, son Malcolm, and brother Doug. She is survived by children Wendy (Oliver), Doug (Nancy), daughter-in-law Lorraine (Ken), grandchildren Brett, Ryan (Taylor), Tucker (Carrie), Amanda (Joey), Rory, and Anders, great-grandchildren Dillan and Lochlan, siblings Bill (Mary), Marie, Margaret, Irene, Bert (Nola), Bob (Haraldine), sister-in-law Lil, special niece Nancy and many other nieces and nephews. Winnie graduated as a registered nurse and worked at hospitals in Vancouver, Bellingham and Hamiota. She then worked as doctors office nurse in Oak River. During that time Neil took over McCallum Services with Winnie assisting in many capacities. Over the years Winnie spent many hours working at the garage and helping in the community, while keeping the household going and baking fabulous apple pies. Mom was a life long member of the Legion as well as belonging to many other groups. Our family is grateful for the wonderful home care she received while living at Lilac and for the wonderful care at Birch Lodge during her last years. As per Winnies wishes there will not be a funeral, there will be a family graveside service at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to Hamiota Health Center, Hamiota, MB, R0M 0T0 or Oak River Community Association, Box 5, Oak River, MB, R0K 1T0.
