LEPARD: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Wesley Lepard. He was admitted to South Calgary Hospital Campus on Friday, January 17th and went to sleep, passing away peacefully at 11:37 a.m. Sunday with family at his side. Jim was born in Brandon, Manitoba on January 7th, 1929 in the family home. He was the youngest child of Franklin Rose and Florence Lepard. The majority of his life he resided in Brandon and worked as a tinsmith in the plumbing and heating business. It was this profession that contributed to him being the handyman. Jim and his wife Aylene restored a historical house in Brandon and were very hospitable, hosting many family Christmas dinners. In 1994, in their retirement they moved to Red Lodge Estates, twelve mile west of Bowden, Alberta. Jim and Aylene both loved the outdoors spending time fishing, camping, hiking and cross country skiing. They skated with a group in Innisfail well into their 80’s. Jim enjoyed making new friends and cherished his neighbours in his community. His sense of humour was appreciated in his story telling. Jim was caring and always thinking of others. He was a devoted husband and caregiver to his wife Aylene who predeceased him in August 2016. Jim was known for his independence, continuing to live in his acreage home until his passing. He was predeceased by his sister, Clara, brothers George, Albert and Frank. He leaves behind daughter Sue (Dale), son Dan(Kathy), grandson Nathan, many nieces and nephews, Barbara, Kathy, Linda, Carol, Norm, Eleanor, Ron, Arvid and Clarice.
