POROSKY: Anne Porosky (nee Onisimchuk), beloved wife of the late William Porosky, passed away peacefully at Valleyview Care Home in Brandon on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the age of 97 years. Anne was born December 9, 1922 in Rovno, Ukraine. The family immigrated to Canada in 1928 and settled in the Plumas area. Anne took a homemaking course in Neepawa in 1939-1940, winning a silver medal. Anne married William George Porosky on December 28, 1940 in Plumas. They settled on the farm at Arden then moved back to Plumas in 1950 when Bill and his brother, Alex, bought the Massey Harris farm implement dealership. She enjoyed raising her family, gardening, singing in the church choir, curling and bowling. In September 1979, Bill and Anne moved to Brandon. Anne attended Trinity United Church and joined the UCW. She joined the Prairie Oasis Singers entertaining at Seniors Homes, the hospital and the Brandon Fair. Anne is survived by sons; Alex (Fran) of Plumas, Don (Eileen) of Brandon, Larry (Rose) of Okotoks, Alberta and Richard (Shirley) of Fruitland, Florida; grandchildren Val (Rob) Ledoux, Neil Porosky, Russel (Lisa) Porosky, Pamela Porosky, Shelley Lackey, Chris (Zoya) Porosky; great grandchildren Justin Ledoux, Brandon Lackey and Laurynn Lackey. Anne was predeceased by husband Bill, infant son Terry and granddaughter Janis. Interment and a family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
