BENDER: Bret David, much-loved son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, and friend was born December 24, 1978 in Brandon and died at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, following serious health complications from acute pancreatitis on April 22, 2020, age 41. Bret will be remembered with endless love by his mother, Sally (Welsh) Bender, his sister Erin (Drew) Krakowski and their daughters, Sicily and Chelsea, his Uncle Jack and Aunt Kathy Welsh, very special friends, and his constant canine companion, Ed. Bret was predeceased by his father David, his maternal grandparents Grumpy (Les) and Nan (Evelyn) Welsh, his paternal grandparents Percy and Shirley Bender, and Eds brother Percy. Bret had many loves: his friends and family, reading, music, learning, sports, and his English Bulldogs. He was filled with joy every minute he spent on FaceTime or in the physical presence of his beloved nieces, Sicily (5) and Chelsea (3). They chuckled at his jokes and antics, teased him about his hair and glasses, and relished his intense interest in everything they said, did, and learned. He was in awe of them every day. Bret had an endless capacity for love and kindness, humor, courage, joy and empathy. We will follow in his procession. Cremation has taken place. No service is planned.
