McCULLAGH: Sadly, on Friday, May 15, 2020, Avril Dawn McCullagh passed away at Tri-lake Health Centre, Killarney, Manitoba. Avril was born May 17, 1955 at Desford, Manitoba and raised in communities in Manitoba and Ontario. Avril will be deeply missed husband Jamie McCullagh, and by Janel Wiebe, her chosen daughter from her first marriage. Avril is also survived by sister-in-law Shirley McCullagh and her family; brother Richard’s children Kurt and Jaylin and their families; mother-in-law Lynne McCullagh; sister-in-law Susan (Robert) Bylo and their children Meaghan, Lindsay, Colin, Shaylyn, (Kevin), as well as extended family. Avril was predeceased by her parents Charles and Vivian (Lackey) McCullagh, brothers Richard and Franklin, and father-in-law Jim McCullagh. Avril had a talent for decorating, crafting, cardmaking, and painting. She was an accomplished seamstress, making unique wall hangings and pillows. Avril sang in the church choir, and volunteered at a local greenhouse, a hairdressing shop, and the library. Avril was a member of the Red Hat Ladies. She enjoyed travelling, and spending time at the cottage at Otter lake during summer. She was an avid shopper and could always find the ultimate deal. A private interment service has taken place at Killarney Cemetery.
