Jake (Dueck) Friesen, age 77 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Apr. 27, 2019, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB, with family by his side.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (nee Toews) of 56 years; daughter, Dianne (Peter); son, Darryl (Lisa); 10 grandchildren, Travis, Tracy, Robynn, Candace, Jordan, Tim, Stephen, Samantha, Jessica, Reagan and their spouses; as well as 15 great-grandchildren. Jake is also survived by five sisters, two brothers, brothers- and sisters-in-law.
He was predeceased by one daughter Darlene, his parents Cornelious G. and Helen Friesen, one brother and two sisters.
Dad, it’s with heavy hearts that you left us way too soon, but we also know that your body told you it was time to go and, in your words, “the race is over”.
The funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 1 at 2 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
Interment took place at Grunthal Cemetery, Grunthal, MB.
