After a courageous battle with cancer that spanned over 10 years, Darlene, with family by her side, passed away at St Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, MB, on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, at 55 years.
Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Travis (Tesslyn), Tracy (Andrew), Candace (Brett) and Tim (Anna) along with 11 grandchildren. Affectionately known as Grandma Dee, she will be sorely missed by Carter, Natalya, Myelle, Chloe, Theodore, Hudson, Sophia, Piper, Lucas, Olivia and Abigail.
Darlene was born Nov. 27, 1962 in Winnipeg, MB. She is survived by her parents Jacob and Mary Friesen of New Bothwell and two siblings, Dianne (Peter) and Darryl (Lisa), and their children.
Darlene was an inspiration to all who knew her; you never heard her complain, instead “It is what it is” became her motto and she lived life to the fullest.
We praise God for the time we were given and we cherish every minute.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. at the Bothwell Christian Fellowship Church, New Bothwell, MB.
Darlene’s children would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the family and friends who walked with Darlene through this long, difficult journey. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
