Peacefully in the early morning on August 17, 2018, our father and grandfather, Martin passed away at Bethania Personal Care Home at the age of 91 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his four daughters,
Rosemary Schellenberg, Shirley Murchison (Dwight), Marlene Pope (Darrell) and Bonnie Schellenberg (Rick Kotaska). He also leaves to mourn five grandsons, Carey, Davis, Tyler (Samantha), Ryan and Devan, two step granddaughters, Alysha and Kimberlee and one step great-granddaughter Trinity. He also leaves to cherish his memory eight sisters, Mary, Nettie, Edith, Teena, Anne, Helen, Eva, Sue, in-laws and many nieces and nephews.
Martin was predeceased by his loving wife, Alice (nee Guenther), his parents Jacob and Maria Schellenberg and three older brothers, John, Jake and Peter.
Martin was a kind, generous and loving husband, father and grandfather. Martin ran a successful Stucco business, but always had time for family and friends. Family was very important to him. We all have fond memories of time spent together at Falcon Lake and on family holidays. He loved to travel, garden and drive his 1956 Thunderbird.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 27 at 10 a.m. at the Elim Mennonite Church in Grunthal, Manitoba (30 Main Street). Personal respects and viewing will be prior to the service from 9:30-10 a.m. Interment to follow at the Grunthal Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Martin’s grandchildren.
If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Bethania Mennonite Memorial Foundation, 1045 Concordia Ave. Winnipeg, MB R2K 3S7, where he received exceptional care and kindness.
