LYDIA REIMER
Lydia Reimer, aged 94, of Steinbach, MB, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Bethesda Place, Steinbach, MB, with her husband Henry at her side.
She is survived by her husband Henry Reimer, sister Margaret Goertzen and brothers Peter Harms and Jake Harms and their families, and by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents John and Sara Harms, one sister and three brothers.
Aunt Lydia was always loving and caring, and always interested in what was happening in the lives of her nieces and nephews, even during the time when dementia became a part of her experience.
Uncle Henry and Aunt Lydia have been long-time members at Steinbach Mennonite Brethren Church.
Aunt Lydia was employed for nine years at Loewen Pharmacy in Steinbach. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She also loved sewing and she could often be found at her sewing machine sewing blankets and other items for donation to MCC for those less fortunate.
Aunt Lydia was loved by all who knew her. She always appreciated visits and was interested in what was happening in the lives of those she loved.
Funeral service for Lydia Reimer will be held on Thursday, July 26 at 2 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, with viewing prior to the service. Interment will follow the service.
If friends so desire, donations in lieu of flowers may be made in memory of Lydia Reimer to Mennonite Brethren Missions Canada.
Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Bethesda Place for the care provided over the years she was a resident there.
