OMER POIRIER
Feb. 26, 1921-June 29, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Omer passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Ste Anne Hospital. He is survived by his children, Gilbert (Micheline), Maurice, Edmond, Roger (Dianne), Denis (Alice), daughter-in-law Diane and son-in-law Ed, 19 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren, sisters, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Marguerite, daughter Diane, son Louis and three grandchildren, Adam, Catherine, and Elisia.
After serving in the military, Omer returned back home where he met the love of his life Marguerite Desharnais and they would marry on June 4, 1947. Omer and Marguerite would live in Otterburne, MB and raise their children here. A hardworking and caring man, Omer touched the lives of many and was respected by all who knew him. Omer will be greatly missed.
We would like to thank the doctors and staff at Youville Villa and Ste Anne Hospital for their compassionate care.
Funeral service will be held at St Viateur Church in Otterburne, MB on Saturday July 7, 2018 with eulogy at 10:30 a.m. and funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at the Otterburne Cemetery.
