EDWARD R. PENNER
December 7, 1941 - May 21, 2018
Edward R. Penner, age 76, of Steinbach, MB passed away suddenly on Monday, May 21, 2018 at St. Boniface Hospital.
Edward was born on December 7, 1941 in Steinbach, MB to Peter J. Penner and Helena Penner (nee Reimer).
He is survived by his wife Lydia, and his children: Monica (David) Thiessen, Melanie Janz, Dale Penner, and Devin Penner; and their grandchildren: Megan Janz, Samantha Thiessen, Carter Thiessen, and their great-grandchildren Cruze Janz and Cadia Janz.
He is survived by siblings Linda, Peter, Leonard and Roy. As a family they recently lost their mother Helen Penner, and Ed made a point of keeping in touch with his brothers and sister.
He is also survived by four brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law and their families.
Ed was predeceased by his parents Helena Penner (nee Reimer), Peter J. Penner, Helen Penner (nee Nickel) and his siblings Tina, Adeline, and John.
Ed was very involved with the Free Church, he was a proud Promise Keeper, board member of AFM, an AA member, Steinbach Piston Supporter, and a Conservative Party Supporter. He loved going for coffee and socializing.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church, Steinbach, MB, with a viewing prior to the service. The burial will follow at the Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, MB. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ed Penner’s life.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ed may be made to Eden Foundation.
