1941-2018

David Lloyd Bennett, age 76, of Steinbach, MB, was welcomed into heaven on Saturday, May 12, 2018 in Steinbach, MB.

His life will forever be cherished by his wife Marjorie of Steinbach, MB, son Daniel Bennett of Steinbach, MB, son William Bennett of Fort St John, BC, daughter Laura (Dan) Gullason of Fort St John, BC, daughter Rebecca Bennett (Vince Bedier) of Fort St John, BC, daughter Esther Bennett of Brandon, MB, daughter Jovani Bennett of Steinbach, MB, sister Sylvia (Fred) Lewis, brother Donald (Ruth) Bennett, and five grandchildren.

Dave was predeceased by his parents Chad and Elwin Bennett, his brother Richard Bennett and daughter Tara (Bennett) McKay.

Dave was born in Ottawa, ON to Chad and Elwin Bennett on June 22, 1941. He went to high school in Eganville, ON and graduated in 1960. He went on to earn a degree in Education from Wilfred Laurier University and worked as a high-school teacher teaching business subjects: typing, math and eventually computers for 45 years. He was involved in many charity organizations, served as an usher in church, and enjoyed gardening and woodworking; reading and hiking with his family; fishing, as well as walking and talking with his family.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 18 at 11 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB with Pastor Terry Kaufman (EEFC) officiating. A lunch will follow the celebration service of David’s life.

Cremation has already taken place.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the medical team of Bethesda Regional Health Centre and to those at Birchwood Funeral Chapel and Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church, Steinbach, MB.
