LANA JOY DYCK (FRIESEN)
It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lana Joy Dyck (nee Friesen) on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at DeSalaberry District Health Centre, St. Pierre, MB.
Lana was born to Nelson and Anne Friesen on February 11, 1967 in the St. Boniface Hospital. Lana received Jesus into her heart at a young age and was baptized at the Word of Life Church in Niverville on a great Thanksgiving Sunday in 1994. Lana married Myron Dyck on September 2, 1989 and together they had two great boys, Brendyn (20), and Jordan (18). Lana enjoyed many things and especially her music and baking. These always went hand in hand. Lana had many great qualities with the most notable being her selfless spirit. She was often baking for others sending her husband and sons to neighbors both known and unknown with cinnamon buns or pies or donuts.
Viewing will be held Friday, January 2, 2015 at 7:00 p.m., with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
The Celebration of Life Service for Lana will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Heritage Center in Niverville, MB.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a foundation being set up in Lana’s honor. As per her middle name, the “Joy Foundation” is being set up by the family. The monies raised will go towards providing a bursary to a high school student who exemplifies the same selfless spirit that Lana had and also to projects both inside and outside the community that a committee of her family and friends believe would also fit the same criteria.
